Mall Custodian

JOB SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain a clean facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Locking and unlocking the mall daily
• Emptying trash cans, tidying, dusting, and wiping surfaces/walls as needed
• Sweeping and mopping of floors, as well as vacuuming carpets
• Cleaning and sanitizing of bathroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors
• Take inventory and restock necessary items, such as lights, soap, and paper products
• Sweeping entry areas, washing windows inside and out
• Handle leaves, dirt, light snow, and ice removal on sidewalks as needed
• Demonstrates punctuality and dependability on the job
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Some professional work experience as custodian, janitor, or a similar role a plus
• Working knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances and how to maintain them
• Understanding of safety protocols such as disposal of chemicals
• Detail-oriented and conscientiousness

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Walking, standing, bending, climbing; lifting up to 50 lbs,; exposure to dust, cleaning chemicals; slippery walking surfaces; work on ladders; work alone

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
