Position Overview
Heartland Counseling Services is excited to offer a paid, part-time Marketing Specialist position to support our marketing, communications, and event efforts. This role plays an important part in promoting Heartland’s services, mission, and community impact through strategic marketing, digital communications, and event support.
The Marketing Specialist will work closely with the marketing and development team to help plan, execute, and evaluate marketing initiatives across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Digital Marketing
Assist with content creation, scheduling, and management across all Heartland social media platforms
Support overall social media strategy, including guiding the launch and growth of Heartland’s Snapchat account
Help promote Heartland’s programs, services, and community events through digital channels
Monitor engagement and assist with brainstorming creative, on-brand content
Marketing Strategy & Communications
Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies for Heartland’s services and initiatives
Support advertising and promotional efforts for events and campaigns
Assist with newsletters, email communications, and other marketing materials
Donor Data & Systems Support
Assist with accurate data entry and maintenance in Heartland’s donor database, Bloomerang
Support basic reporting and organization related to donor engagement and fundraising efforts
Events & Community Outreach
Assist in planning, marketing, and execution of Heartland’s signature events, including:
The Legacy Gala
Heartland Heroes Golf Classic
Trivialand Trivia Night
Support additional fundraisers, community outreach efforts, and on-site event needs as assigned
Podcast & Special Projects
Assist with coordination, promotion, and content support for Heartland’s podcast
Support special marketing projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications
Experience or strong interest in marketing, communications, or nonprofit work
Familiarity with major social media platforms; Snapchat experience or interest encouraged
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities
Creative, collaborative, and eager to grow professionally
Experience with Canva, CRM platforms, or social scheduling tools is a plus
