POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Masters Swim Club Coach is responsible for developing and leading structured swim workouts, providing stroke technique instruction, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for adult swimmers of all levels. This part-time, year-round position combines workout writing, on-deck coaching, and member engagement to enhance swimmer performance, and club culture. The Coach will ensure the safety of participants and spectators at all times. Practices are held 6pm - 7pm Monday and Wednesday evenings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for supervising members, guests, and program participants, and being a primary responder in the event of an emergency.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. General requirements include assisting members, guests, and the community. The ability to communicate effectively in a positive manner by telephone, email, and in person. Computer and keyboarding skills. The ability to deal with high volumes of people and activities. Sound judgment and conflict resolution skills for dealing with daily issues. Ensuring member, guest, community, and staff safety at all times.

This may include exposure to outdoor weather/elements, warm humid indoor conditions, and regular exposure to recreational water (pool areas). Be prepared to adapt to daily changes in a fast-paced environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
