Mathnasium School Partnership - PUSD

We are currently hiring for the 2025-2026 school year for PUSD Expanded Learning Program, with positions starting in September.  Mathnasium is partnered with Pasadena Unified School District to provide an after-school on campus math enrichment opportunity for PUSD schools in our area. The program will run from Monday - Friday from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

(The precise instructional hours are dependent on the program and will vary by school.)

The ideal candidate will be bright and ambitious, with excellent and professional interpersonal skills. Candidates should possess a strong grasp of math concepts. Will work in a fun and friendly team environment, and be trained on: curriculum knowledge to provide effective and concise math instruction to students of all ages, using the Mathnasium Method. Math Instructors will contribute to an engaging and productive learning environment, while participating in positive interactions with students and parents to establish a high level of confidence and program value. The Math Instructor is also responsible for assisting in evaluating and tracking student progress, and to maintain effective communication with the Center Director and fellow team members.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of arithmetic and algebra


• Excellent work ethic


• Willingness to learn


• Within one year of earning your high school diploma


• Available to work at least 3 weekdays (4 preferred)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working with children as a tutor, teacher, or instructor


• Pursuing a degree in education, math, science, or a related field


• Ability to teach up to Algebra 1 (Geometry is a plus)


• Strong classroom or group management skills


• Ability to build rapport with students and parents


• Clear communication skills with students, families, and team members


• Organized and detail-oriented


• Leadership experience is a plus

Instructors must be available to work a minimum of 3 weekdays, preferably 4 weekdays each week AND must be available for the entirety of program hours.

This is an in-person on campus, part-time position, with instructors typically working between 12 to 16 hours per week. While hours may vary, we aim to accommodate as many shifts as you are available for.
