Meat Counter Clerk

Description

Good Harvest Market, Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural and organic grocer, is currently seeking to hire a part-time meat counter clerk. The right candidate must have evening and weekend availability as this role typically closes the department. The latest the store is open is 8pm, with our meat department typically closing an hour before the store closes.

Our  meat department combines an old-school friendly neighborhood butcher feel with a focus on humanely raised, grass-fed and pasture raised meats and sustainably sourced seafood. The focus of a meat counter clerk is on providing friendly customer service, weighing and wrapping  customer purchases from our fresh meat and seafood counter, cleaning and stocking the department, along with some preparation of oven ready  recipes and potentially learning how to use some equipment to grind fresh meats. Candidates must be 18+ years old to be considered.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• providing exceptional customer service
• weighing, portioning, and packaging fresh meats and seafood to order
• cleaning the department
• stocking, rotating, and properly dating and maintaining inventory

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• must be 18+ years old
• ability to lift 50 lbs (can be a physical position)
• ability to work in varying temperatures (cooler, freezer, outdoors as needed)
• evening and weekend availability, with some flexibility as needed
• a passion for providing natural and organic options to our community and a desire to learn
