Medical Billing Collection Specialist- Part -Time (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays-10AM-6PM)

• Examining claims, patient statements, and insurance details to identify discrepancies or unpaid balances.
• Reaching out to insurance companies, parents, patients, or other responsible parties to inquire about payment status and resolve billing issues.
• Managing the aging of accounts, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
• Investigating denied claims, preparing appeals, and submitting necessary documentation to insurance companies. 
• Keeping detailed records of all collection efforts, payment statuses, and communication with relevant parties. 
• Adhering to regulations like HIPAA and staying updated on payer requirements and billing guidelines.

• Providing excellent Customer service while addressing patient billing inquiries and resolving payment disputes.

• Identifying and resolving billing discrepancies, payment issues, and claim denials. 
• Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail are essential for successful collections. 
• Understanding medical coding, insurance processes, and relevant regulations is important. 
• Meeting deadlines, managing a high volume of accounts, and managing challenging situations.
• Understanding Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms and the appeals process for healthcare claims is often required.
• Experience with EMR Systems.
