Member Service Representative

PAY RANGE:

$17.75 - $20.25 Hourly

HOURS:

Evening Shift: 3:00pm-8:00pm
Morning Shift: 8:00am - 2:00pm
Open to work Saturdays

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role involves providing a variety of customer services including: assisting members with their health and wellness goals in the weight room, facility monitoring and cleaning, and membership. Responsibilities may change throughout the year to support seasonal programs, facility maintenance, and membership services. The position also helps develop and operate programs specific to the branch location. A key focus of this position is building strong relationships with members, whether behind the welcome center desk or in the gym. This position reports to the Program Director and/or Senior Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills & Knowledge:

• Passion for exercise/fitness; previous fitness background preferred
• Must be people oriented
• Previous customer service experience required
• General computer skills
• Cash handling knowledge
• Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds

Education & Training:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to pass CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention training, and other mandatory training within completion time frame
• TB test required
• Must be able to complete the YMCA’s mandatory training modules for program staff within the required timeframe after hire
