The Service Desk Associate provides exemplary customer service to fitness center members and guests according to the company’s vision, values, and strategic objectives onsite at the client’s fitness facility. • Provides exemplary customer service to members, guests, vendors, and fellow teammates.
• Responds to customer comments and questions in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Answers and directs all calls on a multi-line phone.
• Operates point-of-sale transactions, distributes laundry to members, books classes for members and handles closing procedures.
• Resolves locked locker and other locker room issues.
• Maintains a positive attitude and contributes towards a quality work environment, including teamwork, cooperation, and strong communication.
• Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating clientele in these areas.
• Attends all mandatory staff meetings, vendor training hosted on site when requested, and all planned services and related events.
• Assists and works Member Events.
• Follows all policies and procedures for fitness center as designed by the Service Manager, Cooper Aerobics Enterprises Policy Manual and Service Desk Standard Operating Procedures.
• Adheres to client’s policies, procedures, and standards in addition to Cooper’s.
• Enforces CFC rules (i.e., shirts, closed toe shoe requirement, phone policy, etc.).
• Supports the mission statement and core values.
• Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
• Accomplishes other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Possess basic computer skills.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR certification required (on-campus certification may be available but must be complete within the first month of employment).
