Position Summary:

The Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach is responsible for developing and leading a volleyball program that promotes teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. The coach will create a positive, structured, and competitive environment that fosters both skill development and character building. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to the mission and values of GREEN Charter School.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development & Management
  
  
  
  • Plan and conduct regular practices focused on skill development, strategy, and team cohesion.
  
  
  • Instruct players on rules, game strategies, and sportsmanship.
  
  
  • Supervise and manage players during practices, games, and team events.
  
  
  • Organize and manage tryouts, team selection, and player evaluations.
  
  
  
  


• Communication
  
  
  
  • Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, school administration, and the Athletic Director.
  
  
  • Provide timely updates regarding schedules, expectations, and team logistics.
  
  
  
  


• Logistics & Administration
  
  
  
  • Attend all scheduled games and practices, ensuring proper supervision and safety of athletes.
    
  
  
  • Ensure all athletes meet academic and eligibility requirements.
  
  
  
  


• Student Development
  
  
  
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes.
  
  
  • Foster a positive team culture that aligns with the school’s mission.
  
  
  • Encourage academic achievement, personal growth, and responsible behavior.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Prior experience coaching volleyball at the middle or high school level (preferred).


• Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and safety procedures.


• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.


• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  


• Ability to pass background checks and comply with school policies.

Working Conditions:

• Practices held after school hours during weekdays; Games will also be held after school hours on weekdays.


• Physical demands include demonstrating skills, standing for extended periods, and transporting equipment.


• Seasonal stipend provided
