Middle School Program Director

Job Purpose

The Middle School Program Director is responsible for managing and growing JustHoop’s middle school division for competitive youth basketball teams. This individual will spearhead strategy in growth, outreach, communication, and engagement—enhancing the division’s competitive positioning while staying true to JustHoop’s mission, values, and player-first culture.

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Program Director will help drive key initiatives, oversee program operations, and contribute to the long-term vision of JustHoop.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Program Oversight

• Serve as a visible ambassador of the JustHoop brand, representing our mission with professionalism, energy, and integrity.


• Lead the organization, outreach, and community engagement for JustHoop middle school teams (Elite, RISE, and Rise D1).


• Collaborate with the Executive Director and High School Directors on tournament scheduling for the program.


• Oversee recruitment of coaches: scheduling/conducting interviews, assigning teams, and maintaining regular communication.


• Organize and lead monthly coaches’ meetings to align messaging, strategy, and program goals with on-court performance.


• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages player growth, grit, and consistency.


• Help cultivate a performance-driven culture rooted in discipline, humility, and long-term development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in business management, sports management, or a related field preferred.


• Experience working with youth athletes in a competitive playing environment.


• Strong passion for athletic development and youth mentorship.


• Excellent verbal communication and motivational skills.


• High energy, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset.


• Basic understanding of basketball athletic demands preferred.


• First Aid and CPR certification required.


• Must pass a background check and complete child safety training

Working Conditions

• Requires regular evening and weekend availability.


• Training occurs primarily indoors (facility court/weight room) with occasional outdoor sessions.


• Travel and schedule flexibility required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate movement patterns, exercises, and drills as needed.


• Regular physical activity required, including lifting up to 50 lbs., dynamic movement, and standing/walking for extended periods.


• Must be able to react quickly and remain composed in high-energy training settings.
