Job Title: Moving Company Team Lead

Job Summary:
The Moving Company Team Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of a moving crew to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality relocation services. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on participation in moving tasks. The Team Lead is expected to maintain professionalism and provide exceptional customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and manage a crew of movers during residential or commercial moves.
- Assign tasks and ensure the team follows company procedures and safety guidelines.
- Train new team members on proper packing, loading, and moving techniques.
Customer Service:
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers during the move.
- Address customer questions, concerns, and special requests professionally.
- Conduct walkthroughs with customers to ensure their belongings are handled appropriately.
Operations:
- Oversee the packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking of items.
- Inspect and document any damage to items or property before and after the move.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to resolve scheduling or logistical issues.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety policies and ensure the crew uses proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Conduct vehicle and equipment checks to ensure everything is in good working order.
- Report accidents, injuries, or equipment malfunctions immediately to management.
Logistics:
- Review and understand the move plan, inventory list, and timeline.
- Ensure the truck is packed securely and efficiently to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain an accurate record of hours worked and job progress.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a moving company or similar role; leadership experience preferred.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 40lbs) and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with moving equipment (dollies, straps, etc.) and techniques.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Willing to drive a box truck; CDL is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of inventory systems or moving software.
