Job Description: You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive music education program for students in kindergarten through elementary school. This includes teaching basic music theory, vocal performance, and introducing various musical instruments. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore their musical interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging music and theater lessons for students in grades K-5.
- Teach music theory, vocal skills, instrument basics, and introduction to different music genres.
- Create and direct performances, including school musicals, plays, and talent shows.
- Foster an appreciation for the arts while promoting a love of music and theater in students.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate arts into various subjects.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents and guardians.
- Organize and participate in school events and performances.
- Prepare and maintain educational materials, instruments, and resources for lessons.
- Maintain communication with parents regarding student performance and events.
Qualifications:
- Some degree in music education, Music, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, vocal techniques, and various musical instruments.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students of all skill levels.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in organizing school concerts or musical events.
- Proficiency in playing multiple instruments.
- Previous experience teaching music to young children, preferably in a school setting.
