Music Therapist

Location: VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System, Aurora, Colorado

Position: Part-time

Duties:

• Provide music therapy to veterans, including teaching instruments such as ukulele, guitar, drums, and percussion.
• Guide veterans in songwriting, singing, and therapeutic music creation.
• Conduct psychotherapy processing as part of therapy sessions.
• Lead hands-on music creation classes where veterans create and keep their own projects.
• Conduct both group and individual sessions, structured as series or single sessions.

Requirements:

• Must hold a current Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) credential.
• In-depth knowledge of music therapy techniques, including history and theory.
• Ability to demonstrate and teach various musical techniques effectively.
