Summary:
A bit about us: We are a family in Newcastle looking for a caring and energetic nanny to support our two-year-old while we are at work Monday through Thursday. Our child has developmental delays and is not yet verbal or fully mobile. He thrives with expressive interaction, playful engagement, and support in practicing mobility and sensory activities. He also attends various therapy appointments throughout the week, so we’re looking for someone who can provide consistent care, joyful engagement, and help with transportation. We also have a friendly Samoyed dog, though no pet care is required. We value a nanny who can bring warmth and energy to each day while supporting developmental play and routines.

A bit about you: You are an expressive, engaging, and proactive caregiver who enjoys being active and playful with young children. You bring visible enthusiasm: smiling, emotive, and communicative interaction goes a long way for our little one. You are comfortable lifting 20–30 lbs, have a safe driving record, and are confident transporting children to appointments and preschool. Our ideal nanny is reliable, communicative, and easygoing, someone who can laugh with us and feels like part of the family.

Job Duties: Daily care includes engaging care, preparing meals, assisting with feeding, planning sensory and mobility activities, and supporting our child through therapy exercises. You will transport to therapy sessions and preschool, and engage in play both at home and out in the community, parks, playgrounds, or library visits. While our child attends preschool (2.5 hours/day beginning late fall), household support such as light cleaning, meal prep, and tidying are appreciated. Qualifications:

Multiple years of experience with young children.
Up to date on vaccines such as Covid, MMR, and Tdap.
Safe driving record and access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
Strong communication and enthusiasm for engaging children.
Glowing references from recent nanny positions.

Set yourself apart:

Experience supporting children with developmental delays or therapy routines.
Creative and expressive in play.
Comfortable collaborating with therapists and integrating exercises into daily routines.

Schedule: M-TH 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pay: $30-37/hr

Working Conditions and Requirements:

Work environment will be active, kid-centric and includes clean up of activities
Part of each day may be spent outside, weather permitting, and will be active play
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Position involves regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and pushing
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
- Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
- Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
- May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner
