Job Description - New Gen Coordinator

Job Status:  Part Time                                          Work Week/Hours:  Sun – Thurs/20-25


Department:  Student Ministry                             Direct Reports:  None


Reports to:  New Gen Pastor



Job Summary:  This position supports the mission and vision of Mountain Springs Church (MSC) by providing support to the New Gen Pastor and is responsible for working closely with leaders and volunteers in reaching the New Generation of students at Mountain Springs Church.  The ideal candidate will be detail-focused, yet creative and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial team environment that is mission-driven, people-oriented and fast-paced. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise clear judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The New Gen Coordinator will have the ability to work independently on projects from conception to completion and must be able to work under pressure to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.


 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage all forms of correspondence including voicemail, e-mail, and regular mail



  • Help oversee the development and implementation of strategies that engage students in dynamic spiritual experiences and transformational relationships through Wednesday nights and special events

  • Participate in creative/strategic meetings for Elevate Night service planning

  • Involvement in leading teams of Student Leaders for Elevate Nights

  • Manage the Planning Center Online platform for volunteer engagement for both Elevate on Wednesdays and Echo on Sundays

  • Being available to listen and pray with Students after gatherings (Elevate and Echo)

  • Primary point of contact for student and adult leaders at Echo

  • Oversee weekly planning and strategic meetings for Echo

  • Involvement in Teaching Team, Hosting Team, and Prayer Team for Echo



  • Perform other duties as assigned


 


Minimum Qualifications:


High School Diploma or equivalent


One year Student Ministry experience

  • Developed and honed communication skills and interpersonal awareness

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize decisions

  • Sensitive and skilled in dealing with differing behaviors, feelings and values

  • Appropriate awareness of privacy of sensitive and confidential information

  • Enjoy working collaboratively with a staff team

  • A demonstrated interest in new technologies and approaches

  • Recognizes own limits and embraces the expertise of other staff

  • Ability to work with Data Base Administration


 


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions



  • Adequate transportation to complete job responsibilities in a timely manner

  • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/sitting

  • Manual dexterity and mobility

  • Visual and auditory acuity

  • Ability to lift, push, pull 30 pounds

  • Exposed to a variety of electromechanical hazards

  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations


 


MSC Staff Expectations and Standards



  • Attendance and punctuality consistent with job requirements

  • Appearance appropriate for task per agency and department dress code

  • Standard of conduct according to MSC Conduct Code

  • Adherence to MSC Employee Guidelines

  • Regularly attend scheduled/assigned staff meeting and MSC worship services

  • Uses resources in a cost-effective manner

  • Operates needed equipment efficiently and effectively

  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with all employees

  • A deep and growing love for the local church
