About the Role: Number Concepts Tutor
Heart Math Tutoring is seeking part-time tutors to lead small group math sessions where they will deliver high-quality, in-person instruction to help students build foundational math skills and confidence using our intervention curriculum adapted from Kathy Richardson’s Developing Number Concepts. Tutors will work directly with elementary students during the school day, using structured lessons and hands-on materials provided by Heart. In addition to delivering instruction, tutors will assess student progress and help create a positive and supportive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values educational equity, and is excited to make a direct impact through small group tutoring. Tutors will collaborate with school staff and Heart Math Tutoring team members to ensure students are receiving the help they need to succeed.
About the Organization: Heart Math Tutoring
We believe tutors can be a powerful resource for students when given tools and support, and we believe all children can understand math at high levels. We focus on students who may not have resources to access private tutoring and who qualify as “economically disadvantaged” in school records. To date, 97% of Heart students have met program growth goals, and over 90% of teachers annually report that students show an increase in enthusiasm and/or confidence towards academics as a result of the program

Compensation: This is an hourly, part-time paid position. Tutors will be paid $20 an hour. Tutors are expected to work for 28 weeks with 3 weeks of paid training (36 hours).
Hiring Timeline: Interviews and decisions will be made starting in August. Training will begin the week of September 15th. Tutoring will begin in October.
