Job Summary:
Supports the College Mission to serve students, employers, and the College community. Provides leadership, quality education, and job skill training in a safe, clean, positive, and productive learning environment. Participate collaboratively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and college partners to promote the general well-being of the department and the college.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule the use of lab/simulation rooms.
- Facilitate running the lab/simulation, set up, usage, take down, and maintenance of supplies, equipment, and manikins in conjunction with Nursing Department Faculty.
- Maintain/repair all manikins and simulation/lab equipment.
- Collaborate with Lab/Simulation faculty on simulation/lab training.
- Promote a safe and effective learning environment for students in conjunction with faculty and staff.
- Communicate with faculty on an as-needed basis for lab/simulation directions for lab set up, usage, and take-down, as well as updates or changes.
- Attend Faculty and Curriculum meetings as assigned.
- Provide input in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relevant to the use and function of the practice and simulation labs.
- Possess knowledge of and maintain online video recording and electronic medical records that interface with lab/simulation activities.
- Maintain current knowledge and expertise in the use and operation of practice and simulation/lab manikins and equipment.
- Maintain current knowledge of lab/simulation resources.
- Participate in technical training.
- Ordering Supplies and Equipment Associated with Training Programs
- Proctoring of student exams and ensuring testing/ lab policies and procedures are followed.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and education in healthcare simulation is preferred.
- Certifications: Healthcare Certification Required, Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
- Experience: Experience ordering supplies and inventory management, and/or one year of healthcare-related experience is preferred.
- Essential Requirements:
- Position may require the ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be capable of performing routine physical activities associated with the training program, including the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds, and demonstrate proper physical requirements associated with performing job functions.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check
Environmental Factors:
Conventional Educational Environment. In some programs, employees may occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals and the hazards associated with their respective industry equipment.
