On-Site Sewage Facility Inspector

Position Summary
We are seeking an OSSF Inspector to perform inspections of on-site sewage facilities (septic systems) to ensure compliance with state and local regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of new and existing on-site sewage facilities (OSSF) for compliance with state and local regulations.

• Review OSSF designs, site evaluations, and installation plans.

• Inspect tanks, drain fields, pumps, and controls for proper installation and operation.

• Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings and photographs.

• Communicate with property owners and contractors regarding compliance issues.

• Issue notices of non-compliance and follow up on corrective actions.

• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to OSSF systems.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections and compliance status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred).

• Must hold a valid TCEQ OSSF Inspector License.

• Previous experience in OSSF inspection, wastewater systems, or environmental health preferred.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience and certification).

• Flexible schedule, remote reporting.
