Position: Substitute Teacher (Talent Pool)
The Part-Time Security Assistant helps maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors on campus. This individual ensures that safety procedures are followed, supervises entrances and common areas, and responds appropriately to emergencies or disruptions. All actions are carried out with professionalism, alertness, and a Christ-centered approach that supports the mission of Sunlight Christian Academy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building entrances, parking lots, hallways, and outdoor areas to ensure the safety of students and staff.


• Assist with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, ensuring safe and orderly movement.


• Greet and screen visitors according to school security procedures.


• Patrol school premises regularly to identify and address any safety or security concerns.


• Report suspicious activity, maintenance issues, or unauthorized individuals to the appropriate personnel.


• Assist in emergency drills (fire, lockdown, etc.) and real-time incident response.


• Ensure that security policies and procedures are followed by students, staff, and guests.


• Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports, when necessary.


• Support school events as needed with traffic control, crowd management, and supervision.


• Demonstrate a respectful and Christ-like attitude in all interactions.
  

Qualifications

• Commitment to Sunlight Christian Academy’s mission and Christian values.


• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Active Security License preferred.


• Previous security, law enforcement, military, or school supervision experience preferred.


• Strong observational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.


• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.


• Physically able to walk, stand for long periods, and respond quickly to incidents.


• Background check and references required.
