Operator - Part Time - Weekends

A leading environmental services company is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Operator based in Chattanooga, TN. This role involves operating heavy equipment to move materials on-site as part of the company’s ongoing mission to support environmental sustainability and resource management. Responsibilities

• Operate a large wheel loader and road tractor/end dump trailer to transport material on-site.
• Complete daily truck logs and report mileage.
• Represent the employer professionally in interactions with clients and the general public.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance.
• Adhere to all DOT, state, local, and company-specific safety and operational regulations.
• Load, unload, and deliver material in a timely and safe manner.
• Clean material off trucks and equipment.
• Support general shop maintenance, including cleaning and equipment/tool setup.
• Maintain detailed operational records.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy or agricultural equipment (preferred).

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid CDL Class A license (required).

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to safely operate heavy or agricultural equipment.
• Skilled in backing up large vehicles and equipment.
• Capable of conducting basic vehicle/equipment maintenance.
• Strong route memorization and directional skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Must be able to sit, climb, balance, reach, stand, walk, lift up to 75 lbs, and use hands for equipment operation.
• Must work in outdoor environments with exposure to weather and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and odors.
• Work may involve proximity to mechanical parts, moving vehicles, elevated workspaces, high temperatures, and processed materials.
