Organist and Song Leader

Position Summary:

GD Resources LLC is seeking a qualified Organist and Song Leader to support both Protestant and Roman Catholic worship services at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC). This role involves providing music leadership during regularly scheduled weekly services and as-needed special services.

Key Responsibilities:

Organist Duties:

• Play hymns and musical selections for Catholic and Protestant worship services using an organ or piano.

• Sight-read music from chapel hymnals and perform at tempos directed by the chapel pastor.

• Provide accompaniment for congregational singing and special musical numbers.

• Support special services such as memorials, funerals, holidays, and holy days when requested.

• Ensure availability of an approved, qualified substitute if unable to perform scheduled duties.

Song Leader Duties:

• Lead congregational singing and direct music during worship services.

• Perform solo or thematic songs upon request by the chapel pastor.

• Coordinate with the organist to ensure musical alignment and tempo consistency.

• Support additional special services and holiday observances.

Qualifications:

• Experience in playing organ and/or piano for worship services.

• Ability to read and perform music for both Catholic and Protestant traditions.

• Familiarity with traditional hymns and contemporary praise and worship music.

• Ability to lead congregational singing confidently and clearly.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Music is preferred.

• Strong communication and coordination skills.

• Must be able to work weekends and some holidays, as needed.

Other Requirements:

• Must obtain a Fort Gordon base access pass.

• Completion of AT Level I and iWATCH training within 30 days of contract start.

• Must comply with DoD information assurance and security requirements.

• Ability to pass background checks for installation access.

Work Schedule:

• 1 to 5 regularly scheduled services per week

• Additional special services with at least 1 week advance notice (minimum 24 hours in urgent cases)
