Part-time


Description

Part Time - Monday through Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm  

The Organizational Employment Coordinator is responsible, along with the supervisor, for the daily overseeing of, activities and training of assigned individuals and for the fulfillment of work contracts.

Essential Functions:

1. Implements individuals training activities in accordance with assigned ISP goals.

2. Works cooperatively with agency staff for the fulfillment of work contracts.

3. Assist supervisor in setting up production methods for efficient utilization of workshop resources.

4. Ensures good quality control of all work contracts.

5. Maintains and submits appropriate daily records related to individual productivity to ensure they are paid accurately. 

6. Operates forklift in transportation of piece work and organization of the warehouse, following all safety protocols. 

7. Supervises farm crew and participates in nursery work at White House Natives.

8. Picks up/drops off documentation destruction jobs within the community, as scheduled by Facility Supervisor.

9. Participates in annual time studies, as required by Virginia Department of Labor.

10. Aids in other program areas (i.e. group day and/or community engagement), as scheduled by Facility Supervisor.

11. Aids in transportation area, as scheduled by Facility Supervisor. 

12. Along with the supervisor, trains and oversees individuals vocational / contract activities.

13. Assist individuals with toileting and personal hygiene if needed.

14. Works with individuals and staff to create a productive, safe, and pleasurable atmosphere.

15. Communicate with residential homes, parents, guardians, and staff successfully both verbally and in writing as needed.

16. Help with planning and execution of all special events.

17. Reports health and safety issues with individuals to supervisor.

18. Maintains a clean and safe environment. 

19. Supervises individuals at time of departure, ensuring their safety in their transportation to go home.

20. Complete documentation of progress notes according to examples set forth by management and training.

21. Assists individuals at break and lunch time (snack & meal preparation).

22. A team player who works with other staff to guarantee a program that is within the licensure boundaries and is fun for individuals as well.

Education and Experience:

§ High school diploma or GED. 

§ Prefer some experience working with persons who are developmentally disabled.

§ Ability to work well with a variety of people.

Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills:

§ Proficient with Microsoft applications.

§ Working knowledge of individual program planning, and individual training methods.

§ Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.

§ Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

§ Ability to excel in fluid, dynamic environment.

§ Capacity to work effectively and cooperatively with others.

§ Excellent organizational, professional and communication skills.

§ Attention to detail.

§ Must be a good listener.

§ Ability to work in cold/hot temperature environments.

§ Ability to operate forklift.

Licensure and Certification:

§ First Aid /CPR /AED

§ UKERU

§ 32 Hour Medication Administration Training (if applicable)

§ Direct Support Professional Training

§ Forklift Training

§ Safety Training 

All Positions:

§ Must be 18 years of age.

§ Must possess a valid driver’s license and have proof of a good driving record.

§ Pass multiple background inquiries (both pre-employment and during employment).

§ Pass a pre-employment drug screen, as well as random screening.

§ Must follow SPI vehicle guidelines and policies.

§ May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

§ Willing to work in other departments and locations as needed. 

§ Administers UKERU, First Aid and CPR when necessary. 

§ Follows infectious disease policies and protocols.

§ Must protect the human rights of each individual, ensuring the confidentiality of his /her records.

§ Attends meetings and training courses as required. 

§ Meets attendance standards, being on time and regular in attendance.

§ Must be able to move 50 lbs. and on occasion up to 150 lbs. (lift, push, pull – move objects or individual).

§ Ensures overall safety of individuals and enforces/safeguards individual’s rights.

§ Ability to read a variety of documents, evaluations, summaries, reports, charts, reviews, treatment plans etc. Must be able to use a computer, and write documents listed previously, using designated formats with the rules of grammar, punctuation, spelling, dictation, and style.

§ Need to possess the ability to apply the principles of critical thinking, defining problems, emergencies, data collection, stating facts and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to understand both verbal and written forms and instructions.

§ Must be able to communicate and deliver instructions effectively and professionally, both written and verbal, and via telephone.

§ Must have the physical and mental capability to use all office equipment (phone, computer, email,  and all functions of a copier).

§ Must be able to manage all types of stressful situations.

§ Must have good personal hygiene, being clean, and neat in appearance, wearing appropriate clothing and shoes for the job.

§ Adheres to the policies and procedures established by the SPI Board of Directors and Management.

§ All other duties as assigned by management.

Salary Description
