Description
This is a part-time position covering two 10-hour shifts in our Outpatient Services Department.
Position Summary
Responsible for checking patient in, doing appropriate vital signs, weights and ordering doctor ordered testing. To maintain a consistent high standard of care. Responsible for checking charges in Cerner. Responsible for all outpatient therapies, ordering medications, making sure ordered tests get completed.
Essential Functions:

1. Assures that the standards of operation of the department are in compliance with the standards set by SCH.
2. Directs the overall activities to make sure everything runs smoothly on clinical days.
3. Follows doctors orders as he/she has ordered them and communicates with central scheduling for follow up appointments.
4. Keeps up to date on in-services for new equipment.
5. Maintains levels in inventory with placing the proper supply requisition to material management within a timely manner.
6. Maintains continued education hours.
7. Using independent judgment within your limitations.
8. Participates as an active member of hospital committees as assigned.
9. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
10. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department for proper paper work.
11. Able to work closely with others in positive ways.
12. Able to follow doctors orders for outpatient and make sure medications and labs are given/taken correctly per orders.

Education, Qualifications, Experience:
Must be a RN and must have experience in a clinical settings position. Must have interpersonal skills. Capable of mature and independent judgment.
Expectation of Service: 40 hours per week.
Physical Requirements: Occasional sitting, frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting/carrying 10-35 pounds; frequent reaching/grasping, twisting, pulling/pushing, occasional exposure to Sharp instruments. Frequent exposure to equipment. Continuously writing in English and working irregular hours.

May be exposed to occasional different patient elements
Exposed to unpleasant elements (injuries and illness)
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
Occasionally subjected to irregular hours

May be exposed to hazardous body fluids and wastes
Subject to burns and cuts.
