Overnight Security

The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is looking for Security to join our team! A beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District.

Shift: Friday and Saturday 11:00pm - 7:00am 

Summary: The Security position works with the Night Auditor to ensure the safety and needs of all hotel guests. It entails making decisions on their own that are in the best interest of both the hotel and its guests, remembering at all times that guest service comes first. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  To provide excellent guest service by being courteous, prompt, and professional.

  
  


• 
  

  Must have knowledge of all aspects and facilities of the Hotel.

  
  


• 
  

  Handling all guests' requests and/or complaints in a professional and knowledgeable manner.

  
  


• 
  

  Responsible for signing in and out” the Security keys at the Front Desk.

  
  


• 
  

  Assisting guests with parking of their vehicles and helping them with luggage to their rooms when necessary.

  
  


• 
  

  Assisting guests with any of their needs.(i.e., extra towels, blankets, minor maintenance problems, etc.)

  
  


• 
  

  Assisting in snow removal when necessary.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist the night auditor in answering the hotel phone.

  
  


• 
  

  To take care of the wake up call information and to deliver coffee calls to rooms until the Room Service attendant arrives.

  
  


• 
  

  Check and secure all areas of the hotel, inside and out.  Checks and secures all overnight rooms and function rooms, offices, etc.

  
  


• 
  

  Do a walk around the outside of the building and check the hotel parking lots continually throughout the night.

  
  


• 
  

  Handle all disturbances within the hotel and make decisions regarding disturbances with the assistance of the Night Auditor.

  
  


• 
  

  Displays coffee in the lobby in the morning.  

  
  


• 
  

  Assist guests to and from the airport and various local transportation sites as needed.

  
  


• 
  

  To perform any other related duties assigned by your manager or any other manager.

Qualifications

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

This position requires a valid driver’s license.  Must have driver’s license for a minimum of two years.   

Education and/or Experience 

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Language Skills 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employee’s of the organization. 

Reasoning Ability 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
