Role Description:
We are currently hiring a Part-Time After School Childcare Assistant to support our team during weekday and weekend evening hours from 5:30 PM to Midnight. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in childcare who is looking for a flexible, part-time role in a nurturing and structured environment.
Schedule & Compensation:
Hours: Weekday and weekend shifts, 5:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Pay: $12.00 – $13.50 per hour, based on experience
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have prior experience working with children
- Experience in a daycare or after-school setting is a plus
Certifications:
- CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain)
- TB test and physical required (preferably completed before start date)
- Background check mandatory
Skills & Traits:
- Responsible, dependable, and patient with a warm, caring attitude
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with children and coworkers
- Ability to remain active and alert during evening hours
Responsibilities:
- Supervise children during evening routines, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Engage children in quiet, age-appropriate activities like story time, crafts, or games
- Support meal/snack times and assist with preparing for bedtime pick-ups
- Maintain cleanliness and order in play and rest areas
- Communicate with parents at pick-up, providing brief updates as needed
- Follow all safety, health, and daycare policies to maintain a secure environment
