Part-Time After School Program Worker

We are seeking a caring and responsible After-School Program Worker to supervise and engage students in grades Pre-K through 8 during after-school hours. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming atmosphere, maintain order, and ensure student safety while supporting the Catholic identity and mission of the school.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise students during after-school program hours, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.
• Create a positive, structured environment that reflects the school’s Catholic values.
• Assist students with homework and provide quiet work time when needed.
• Lead or supervise games, crafts, and recreational activities appropriate for different age groups.
• Maintain accurate attendance records for the after-school program.
• Communicate any concerns about student behavior or safety to the program coordinator or principal.
• Ensure that dismissal procedures are followed, including checking students out to authorized individuals.
• Assist with light clean-up and organization of program materials at the end of the day.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in a school, parish, camp, or youth program setting.
• Ability to maintain a safe and orderly environment with kindness and consistency. Practicing Christian (Catholic preferred) supportive of the school’s mission.
• Dependability, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Some college coursework or training in education or child development.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Familiarity with classical education or willingness to be trained in the school’s approach.

Schedule & Physical Demands

• Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 3:15 PM–5:30 PM (hours may vary for half-days or special events).
• Requires active supervision of children indoors and outdoors, standing and walking for extended periods, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
