Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM (part-time) adjust days if needed
Pay: $15 per hour

About Us

The TEA Center is a learning center in McLean, VA that supports students with tutoring and enrichment programs. We’re looking for a dependable, safety-minded driver to help our students get from school to our center and home again each afternoon.

Role Summary

The Afterschool Driver safely transports students between local schools, The TEA Center, and approved drop-off locations during afterschool hours. This role calls for punctuality, professionalism, and care for children’s safety.

Responsibilities

• Pick up students from assigned schools starting at 2:30 PM and bring them safely to The TEA Center


• Drive students home or to approved drop-off points by 6:30 PM, following the daily route schedule


• Confirm each student’s attendance, pick-up, and drop-off with staff and parents or guardians


• Make sure all students are seated and buckled before the vehicle moves


• Keep a calm, respectful, and orderly environment in the vehicle


• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and center policies


• Perform daily checks of the vehicle (fuel, tires, cleanliness) and report any issues right away


• Communicate promptly with the center team about delays, schedule changes, or student concerns


• Keep transportation logs up to date

Requirements

• Valid Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record


• Minimum [age/years] of driving experience


• Ability to pass a background check and driving record check


• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with traffic and school pick-up lines in the McLean area


• Patient and friendly with children and teens


• Good communication skills with staff and parents


• Able to work the full 2:30 to 6:30 PM shift consistently

Preferred (Not Required)

• Prior experience driving children (school, daycare, or camp transport)


• CPR/First Aid certification


• Familiarity with the McLean/Fairfax County area

Vehicle

Choose one: Center-provided vehicle will be assigned / Driver must have a reliable, insured vehicle .
