Our Story

In August 1991, Care-a-lot opened the doors of their first center in Greece. The community enthusiastically responded to the quality of early childhood education and care available at the center. Because of their strong reputation, Care-a-lot is now serving families in eight locations in the Rochester community: North Greece, South Greece, Henrietta, Pittsford, Fairport, Farmington/Canandaigua, Browncroft Day Care Center, and Victor Child Care.

In 2023, Generations Child Care joined the Care-a-lot family. Care-a-lot is committed to maintaining the excellent service that Generations has provided to children and families for decades and is excited to start this new chapter as we continue to grow! Generations serves families in Fairport, Irondequoit, Gates, Highland Park area, and Downtown Clinton Square.

In 2025, Storybook Academy joined the Generations and Care-a-lot family. Our parent company, First Learning, is constantly expanding and most recently has acquired centers in the Hamburg and Amherst regions.

Responsibilities:

• Developing parent relationships and communicating with parents regularly on children’s activities
• Maintaining classroom records and keeping necessary documentation
• Communicating effectively and directly with other staff
• Maintaining a positive work climate and having FUN!
• May be asked to assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.

Job Requirements:

• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent, AND
• At least 1 year of experience related to caring for children
