CAP3 is looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team in Wilmington, NC.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys variety, knows their way around accounting systems, and likes being the person who can jump in and get things done.

You'll work across our Transaction and Accounts Payable teams, helping fill gaps, keep work moving, and make sure our clients' books stay accurate and up to date. You'll also be responsible for completing bank and credit card reconciliations and helping identify issues before they become problems.

This is a hands-on position where no two days may look exactly the same.

What You'll Do

Support the Transaction Team

• Post daily transactions from bank and credit card feeds


• Review transactions for proper classification and accuracy


• Research and resolve transactions that need additional information


• Communicate with clients regarding open questions when needed


• Help keep client books current and organized


• Jump in to support the Transaction Team when workloads or deadlines require additional help

Support the Accounts Payable Team

• Enter and code vendor bills accurately and timely


• Review bills for appropriate coding and supporting documentation


• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and account questions


• Follow up on outstanding AP items


• Assist with processing approved vendor payments


• Provide additional support to the AP Team when needed

Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations

• Complete bank and credit card account reconciliations


• Identify and research discrepancies


• Investigate missing or incorrectly posted transactions


• Ensure reconciliations are completed accurately and timely


• Communicate issues to the appropriate team member for resolution


• Help maintain clean and accurate client books

Be the "Jump In and Help" Person

This role is about more than completing a list of assigned tasks.

You'll help us fill gaps across the accounting team, step in when someone needs support, and help make sure client work stays on track.

We need someone who can look at what needs to get done and say, "I've got it."
