Daily Rate: $125 per day
Schedule: 7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m on an as-needed basis

Position Overview

Atlas Public Schools is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to serve as part-time Building Support Specialists. This temporary position supports classroom teachers and the overall operations of the school.  The role is ideal for college students studying education, individuals exploring a future career in education, retired educators, or those interested in gaining hands-on experience working in a school environment. Team members in this role will work closely with teachers and school staff to support instruction, supervise students, and assist with daily classroom and building needs.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support

• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and learning activities


• Support small group work and individual student needs


• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other activities


• Help maintain a positive, safe, and structured learning environment

Classroom Assistance

• Prepare classroom materials and organize supplies


• Assist with classroom setup, organization, and daily routines


• Support teachers with basic administrative tasks and student supervision

Building Support

• Provide coverage and assistance where needed across the building


• Help with arrival, dismissal, and student transitions


• Support school-wide activities 


• Help lead intersession programming

Professional Expectations

• Maintain professionalism and reliability in attendance and punctuality


• Follow all Atlas Public Schools policies and procedures


• Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff


• Support a positive school culture aligned with Atlas values

Qualifications

• Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate required


• Interest in working with children and supporting student learning


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Ability to be flexible and assist where needed


• Experience working with children or in educational settings preferred but not required
