The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company\u2019s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulphuric acid for our North American leaching operations. \n\n## What You Will Do\n\nYou are responsible for safely transporting employees between designated parking areas and mine sites in support of a 24/7 operation, ensuring passengers arrive safely, on time, and in compliance with transportation and site safety standards. You support shift changes by operating on a schedule that may require a single four\u2011hour shift or split shifts based on operational needs. You safely operate company\u2011provided buses while adhering to traffic laws, site rules, and internal safety protocols. You conduct pre\u2011trip and post\u2011trip inspections, document issues, and maintain vehicles in a clean and safe condition. You ensure passengers load and unload safely and follow required safety rules, providing direction during transport and in emergency situations. You maintain accurate logs, including trip sheets, attendance counts, mileage, inspection records, incident reports, and perform other duties as requested.\n\n## What You Bring To Freeport\n\n * Valid, unrestricted driver\u2019s license with acceptable driving record\n * Strong communication skills and ability to follow radio or dispatch instructions \n\n\n\n## Preferred Qualifications\n\n * High School Diploma or GED\n * Experience operating on industrial or mining sites\n * Three months of previous professional driving experience (bus, shuttle, commercial transport, heavy equipment)\n\n\n\nWhat We Offer You \n\n * The estimated pay range for this role is currently $18.00 - $24.00/hour. \n\n\n\nWhat We Require\n\n * Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam. \n * Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing. \n * Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation. \n * Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going drug and alcohol testing, as allowed by applicable laws. \n\n\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer \n\nPlease be advised that Freeport-McMoRan will never request payment for job-related expenses from applicants.
