Position Title: Licensed Psychologist – Psychological & Pre-Employment Evaluations
Location: Remote with On-Site Response in Santa Fe County, NM (as required)
Employment Type: Part-Time / Contract (As-Needed, On-Call)
Reports To: Project Director, Public Safety Evaluations



Position Summary


KENTECH Consulting Inc. seeks a Licensed Psychologist to provide part-time, contracted services supporting Santa Fe County public safety agencies. This role will deliver pre-employment screenings, fitness-for-duty evaluations, crisis interventions, and staff training workshops in accordance with IACP guidelines and the Santa Fe County Department of Public Safety standards.



Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct pre-employment psychological evaluations for new hires and volunteers (approx. 10–20 annually).



  • Perform fitness-for-duty assessments following critical incidents or supervisor referrals.



  • Deliver face-to-face evaluations assessing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.



  • Provide clear written reports and recommendations on employability, return-to-duty, and safety risk.



  • Submit initial evaluation results within 48–72 hours and comprehensive reports within 10 business days.



  • Serve as an on-call psychologist (24/7/365) for critical incident response, including:


    • On-site response within 90 minutes of call, when feasible.



    • In-person debriefings and counseling for affected personnel.



    • Group debriefings after officer-involved shootings, line-of-duty deaths, or traumatic events.






  • Training & Education:


    • Design and deliver annual workshops (32–40 hours each) for deputies, corrections staff, fire/EMS, and civilian personnel.



    • Training topics include peer support, crisis intervention, stress management, counselor-in-training (CNT), interviewing and interrogation techniques, and resilience practices.





  • Testify in court proceedings when required.



  • Maintain all records in compliance with Santa Fe County retention policies and DPS standards.




Qualifications



  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.




  • Current licensure as a Psychologist in New Mexico (or eligibility prior to contract award).



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in psychological evaluations, preferably with law enforcement/public safety.



  • Familiarity with standardized assessments (e.g., MMPI-2-RF, CPI, personality/cognitive measures).



  • Experience with critical incident response and trauma-informed care.



  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and public speaking.



  • Ability to design and deliver training sessions for law enforcement/public safety personnel.



  • Must be available for on-call emergency response.




Preferred Skills



  • Previous experience working with law enforcement, corrections, or fire/EMS.



  • Experience delivering structured training or peer support programs.



  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.




Compensation


Hourly rate: $125 – $175/hour, depending on service type (evaluation, incident response, or training).



Compensation: $125.00 - $175.00 per hour
