Part Time Cook

Key responsibilities include:

1. 
   Treat all individuals with dignity and respect while maintaining agency standards of confidentiality, professionalism and objectivity. 


2. 
   Assist in preparation of meals for 20-30 bed residential facility as well as for other meetings as requested.
   


3. 
   Assist in planning food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.


4. 
   Coordinate with Residential Unit Coordinator about daily processes and routines including but not limited to: meal preparation, restocking inventory, usage of kitchen products and storage practices.
   


5. 
   Assist in ordering all supplies necessary for food production for both the men’s and women’s residential facilities.
   


6. 
   Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
   


7. 
   Make sure all purchase orders are signed by the Residential Unit Coordinator.


8. 
   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


9. 
   Be certified in First Aid and CPR bi-annually.


10. 
    Maintain agency trainings as assigned.


11. 
    Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and useful skills:

1. 
   Understanding of the mission of Prairie Ridge and patients we work with.


2. Obtain and maintain current and valid Safe Serve certification.


3. 
   Experience in menu planning and food preparation.
   


4. 
   Have knowledge of keeping a running inventory.


5. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
