Job Description - Part Time Culinary Instructor

Part Time Culinary Instructor
$30.00 per hour
Waterbury, CT 06702

ABOUT THIS POSITION:
The Culinary Instructor is responsible for teaching students participating in an after-school program, culinary skills, providing them with information that will stimulate their interest in the culinary arts, supervise and teach the basics of food preparation, kitchen safety, and nutrition.

Prepare and serve meals
Assist in vocational program
Assist in keeping equipment and facility clean
Supervise and teach youth the basics of food preparation, kitchen safety, and nutrition
Prepare and assist agency catering special functions and holidays
Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
Focus on Client Needs: Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within program parameters
Ability to communicate, cooperate and serve people from all cultural identities with respect, professionalism, integrity and fairness in a manner that recognizes the individuality of each person
Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance program effectiveness
Regular and consistent attendance
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

SCHEDULE AND RATE OF PAY:

Monday-Friday 2:00pm-5:00pm
- 15 hours per week
Rate of pay is $30.00 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Food Service experience - Required
ServeSafe Food Handler certified or ability to be certified
Strong interpersonal skills with youth and co-workers
Personal Effectiveness/Credibility
Communication Proficiency
Collaboration Skills
