Position Summary

The Part-Time Custodian plays a critical role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This on-site position involves performing a variety of janitorial duties to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

General Facility Cleaning

• Empty waste receptacles and replace liners
• Vacuum carpets, spot-clean where necessary
• Mop and sanitize tiled floors
• Clean and sanitize surfaces including desktops, tables, chairs, mirrors, and glass
• Dust furniture, fixtures, bookcases, lamps, and picture frames
• Clean AC vents, spot-clean walls, door jams, windows, and blinds
• Maintain coffee areas: clean pots, cups, and sink areas

Restrooms & Breakrooms

• Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, mirrors, and brightwork
• Refill soap, towel, and tissue dispensers
• Sweep and mop floors; power scrub when necessary
• Remove trash and replace liners
• Clean tables, appliances, vending machines, and refrigerators
• Mop floors and vacuum carpets as applicable

Exam Areas

• Clean and disinfect exam tables, sinks, and countertops
• Sanitize floors and remove trash appropriately
• Buff floors as needed

Exterior & Security Duties

• Pick up outside trash, sweep entranceways, clean doors, and empty ash trays
• Check all entrances, exits, and secure areas at end of shift
• Report any irregularities to the appropriate personnel

Salary: $19.10/hr

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and proper techniques
• Attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules independently
• Good physical stamina; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions
• Experience in a healthcare environment is a plus
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor

Physical Requirements

• Frequent mobility, standing, bending, and stooping
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
• Regular handling of materials and custodial tools
• Position classified as at-risk for occupational exposure to blood and/or bodily fluids
