The Child Development Center at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish seeks candidates for two part-time custodial positions at our childcare center. Custodians clean the childcare center after closing, starting at 6pm and working until all assigned cleaning tasks are complete. This typically takes 3 to 4 hours per shift. The schedule is three nights per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you possess attention to detail in cleaning and have previous custodial experience, we encourage you to apply!
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Custodians are tasked with cleaning the childcare facilities, including classrooms, restrooms, breakroom, offices, other areas. Custodians perform cleaning by sweeping, mopping and polishing all tile and linoleum covered flooring, vacuuming and steam cleaning all carpeted areas, dusting and polishing wooden furniture, dusting windows sills, counters, and baseboards, cleaning and disinfecting rooms, tables, and counters, cleaning and disinfecting the kitchen, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and toilets, restocking paper products and hand soap, removing all trash, cleaning windows and doors, moving chairs, tables, and other furniture for cleaning purposes, and other tasks as assigned.

Ministerial Character
The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish (St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church – College Station, Texas) which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church – College Station, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Able to work a 4-hour schedule between the hours of 6pm-10pm, 3 nights a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Prior custodial experience preferred.
English language skills required.
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
