Part-Time Custodian (Nuuanu - Oahu)

We are looking to hire a highly motivated individual, dependable, trustworthy, good customer service and detail-oriented to join Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM). The part-time Custodian/Cleaner position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the building based on assigned cleaning duties located in Downtown Oahu.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and clean common areas of the facility and restrooms


• Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, wipe down areas, sanitize and refill supplies:


• Clean/wipe/sanitize urinals and toilets


• Wipe down walls and partitions 


• Clean/wipe down mirror and glass


• Sweep and mop floors


• Clean restroom and walkway/hallway


• Remove trash and dispose to designated area 


• Work independently and following instructions

Cleaning Checklist:

• Entry Area: sweep and wash down entry area 


• Wipe down the gate


• Clean glass doors and windows


• Kitchen Wipe down counters


• Wipe down tables and chairs


• Empty trash and replace liners


• Sweep and mop the floor


• 4 Restrooms - clean and wipe down toilets


• Clean and wipe down urinals


• Clean and wipe down counters and sinks


• Clean and wipe down partitions and dispensers


• Empty trash and replace liners


• Sweep and mop the floor


• 4 Office Floors


• Empty trash and replace liners


• Wipe down and dust open surface areas


• Sweep and mop floors


• Vacuum carpeted areas and carpeted stairs


• Clean entry area: sweep and mop floors, clean glass doors and windows


• Remove bagged trash to the outside dumpster

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must pass background check


• High school diploma/GED preferred


• Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train.


• Experienced in handling cleaning chemicals


• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English


• Must have good public relations skills and communication


• Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 15lbs (up to 20lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down stairs and ladder climbing and stand throughout their shifts (3-4 hours).

Schedule (3 days, 12 hours per week): Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 3:30pm to 7:30pm

Compensation: $17-$19/per hour
