Job Description - Part Time Detox Technician: Two 12-hour Night Shifts

Position Summary – Detox Technician


As a Detox Technician on the night shift, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals undergoing detoxification from substances. Your primary responsibility will include providing general patient support, restocking items and supplies, cleaning, and laundry. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of addiction and withdrawal processes, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:




  • Monitor patients during detoxification process and ensure their safety and well-being.


  • Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals (if applicable) to develop and implement patient care plans.


  • Provide emotional support to patients during the detoxification process.


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of treatments, observations, and progress.


  • Interact with patients to assist with various needs, including getting food, snacks, and other items.


  • Maintain a clean and organized environment to ensure patient safety and infection control, including cleaning communal areas and doing laundry.


  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.


  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.



Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)




  • High school diploma or GED.


  • Familiarity with the detoxification process.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and providing compassionate care.


  • Understanding of legal and ethical considerations related to substance abuse treatment and patient care.


  • Basic life support (BLS) certification is required.



Schedule:


12 hour shifts (7 pm to 7:30 am)


Friday and Saturday



Compensation:


$24 ($21/hr base pay PLUS $3 weekend differential--applies to all Friday and Saturday Shifts)



Benefits:



  • PTO (earned on an accrual basis with increases at one year and every 5 years thereafter)

  • Sick Time (40 hours annually)

  • Time and a Half Holiday Pay

  • 401k and up to 3% match after 3 months of employment

  • Up to $400 per year for approved CEUs

  • All required licensure/certification costs for position paid for by the company



**Position is contingent on passing an OHA Background check and successful completion of a urine analysis (UA) after accepting job offer**
