Position: Part-Time Development Associate
Reports to: Development Director
Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid – must be available for in-person donor events)
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience (20–25 hours per week)


 


 


Position Summary


The Part-Time Development Associate is key in supporting The Equity Alliance’s fundraising strategy, ensuring the successful execution of donor relations, grant tracking, membership management, and fundraising automation. Reporting to the Director of Growth & Engagement, this position will focus on managing the donor database (EveryAction preferred), tracking fundraising progress, automating donor communications, and maintaining donor and membership engagement.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and experienced in nonprofit development, donor stewardship, and grassroots fundraising. They will manage data, segment, and report while ensuring donors and members receive timely, personalized, and impactful engagement.


This part-time role (20–25 hours per week) is ideal for someone who wants to contribute to racial justice and Black-led movement-building while applying their expertise in fundraising operations.


 


 


Key Responsibilities


1. CRM & Data Management (EveryAction)



  • Maintain donor and member records in EveryAction, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Create and manage donor segmentation lists (e.g., current donors, lapsed donors, recurring donors, major donors, membership tiers).

  • Automate donor communications using workflows (e.g., thank-you emails, impact reports, event invites, re-engagement campaigns).

  • Generate and schedule reports (e.g., donor retention, lapsed donors, grant pipeline, fundraising progress).

  • Ensure source codes and tracking fields are correctly assigned for memberships and donor gifts.


 


 


2. Donor Relations & Stewardship



  • Ensure timely donor acknowledgment through automated and personalized thank-you processes.

  • Track major donor engagement and assign tasks to leadership for high-touch stewardship.

  • Assist in planning and executing donor retention events and campaigns, including email, phone, and direct mail outreach.

  • Maintain a donor stewardship calendar, ensuring consistent communication and engagement.

  • Support the Director of Growth & Engagement in implementing donor upgrade campaigns, encouraging one-time donors to become recurring donors.


 


 


3. Grant Tracking & Management



  • Maintain grant records in EveryAction, ensuring that submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and funder communications are tracked accurately.

  • Assign and track grant-related tasks in Task Manager, ensuring the Director of Growth & Engagement and leadership team receive timely reminders for reviews and submissions.

  • Generate and manage grant reports, including submission history, pending applications, and awarded funds.

  • Ensure compliance with grant reporting deadlines by tracking funder requirements and automating reminders for program teams to provide data.


 


 


4. Membership Program Management



  • Oversee membership tracking and automation for all tiers. 

  • Manage membership renewals by setting up automated renewal notices and reminders in EveryAction.

  • Create and schedule membership engagement emails, including newsletters, event invitations, and impact updates.

  • Generate monthly membership reports, tracking retention rates, upgrades, and new sign-ups.


 


 


5. Fundraising Campaign & Event Support



  • Assist in planning and executing grassroots fundraising campaigns, ensuring they align with best practices in community-centered fundraising.

  • Coordinate campaign automation for Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, and special fundraising pushes.

  • Track event sponsorships, ticket sales, and donor attendance through EveryAction.

  • Support donor and member communications related to signature events, ensuring high engagement and attendance.


 


 


Qualifications & Experience


Required:



  • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, or donor relations.

  • Proficiency in CRM database management (EveryAction preferred), including data entry, reporting, and automation.

  • Experience in donor stewardship, fundraising best practices, and grassroots fundraising strategies.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to track donor engagement and fundraising progress.

  • Ability to write compelling donor communications (emails, newsletters, appeals).


Preferred:



  • Experience in grant management, including tracking deadlines and reporting requirements.

  • Familiarity with email automation and workflow setup in EveryAction or similar CRM.

  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices for Black-led, community-based organizations.

  • Ability to analyze and report on donor retention trends, identifying key opportunities for engagement.

Work Schedule & Compensation



  • Hours: 20–25 weekly (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work for events).

  • Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience.


Location: Hybrid role based in Nashville, TN (must be available for in-person donor events).
