Job Summary & Description:
Empowered Services seeks to builda team of responsible, caring, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Newberg area.Your goal will be to develop meaningful relationships that build confidence & independence and passionately help those with intellectual & developmental disabilities to live a more fulfilled and happy life.
Working one on one with each customer you serve, you willassess theirneeds, work towards meeting desired outcomes, and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive,encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs are our customers helpers, mentors, and advocates.
HERE ARE SOME OF OUR AVAILABLE CUSTOMERS:
282: School aged boy in Estacada who is kind and funny. He is very smart and loves math and computers and his tablet. He needs a DSP who can help support him in using his buttons for communication and will be able help him with stay focused on required tasks.
The schedule would be Monday 12:00p-8:00p & Saturday from 7:00a-3:00p.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience with the I/DD community is preferred but not required.
Must pass a background check. - *Not all charges will warrant a disqualification.
Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.
Must have your own reliable vehicle, with full coverage auto insurance.
Must be willing to assist customers with bathrooming and hygiene needs.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting pay is between $23-25 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.
Full-Time (30+ hours a week) employees are eligible for:

Roles & Responsibilities:
Embody integrity, honesty, and dependability.
Assist with customers many daily living needs, including but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication & social skills, behavioral supports, mobility & transportation needs and household chores.
Work closely with customers to create daily schedules and plan for exciting adventures or events in their communities.
Help customer meet their goals & desired outcomes. Track customers progress and report feedback to their County Coordinator.
Encourage and foster customers skill development, preferred hobbies, interests, and community connections.
Develop meaningful relationships and connections with your customer(s). Let's empower them to recognize their voice, worth, and belonging within our community!
Routinely check in with their County Coordinator and report any issues within a timely manner.
Follow all health and safety protocols.
Complete state required training as needed.
Show compassion, patience, and understanding. Caregivers also serve as role models, advocates and companions to their customers. So, you must be willing to make a difference in someone's life.
