Job Description - Part-time Dispatcher and Gating Coordinator - 16 hours/week

Description

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Airport Synergy Group LLC (ASG) is a Joint Venture between Avports LLC, Jacobsen|Daniels Associates LLC, and Consolidated Management Professionals. ASG brings 120+ years of collective experience in world-class commercial aviation operations. After previous cooperation and successful collaboration among its partners in the past, ASG was recently awarded the management contract to provide Property and Equipment Management Services at the Los Angeles International Airport, on behalf of the Los Angeles International Airport Terminal Equipment Co. (LAXTEC).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Administrative Services Supervisor, the Duty Managers, and Terminal Managers, the part-time LAXTEC Dispatcher and Gating Coordinator will oversee the Airline Support Operations Center (ASOC) and will monitor and manage common use aircraft resources at LAX’s Terminal 5, Terminal 6, and assigned terminals on a 24/7/365 basis. This will include reviewing schedules and validating flight data, forecasting utilization, identifying and resolving potential conflicts, recording usage, developing reports and directly supporting the organization’s preventative and corrective maintenance programs and inventory and accounting functions. When on shift, the Dispatcher and Gating Coordinator will be required to work collaboratively with numerous team members and other entities and will be required to perform assigned clerical and administrative duties. The Dispatcher and Gating Coordinator will assist the Duty Managers and Terminal Managers in overseeing the Gating Center and ASOC scheduling, policies, procedures, training, and activity logs.

Generally, the Dispatcher and Gating Coordinator will:

  • Answer phone calls, maintain contact logs for each specific request (e.g. operational requests, maintenance malfunctions, custodial services, etc.), and dispatch maintenance, custodial, or supervisors to address issues as appropriate.
  • monitor the operational status of systems, equipment, and facilities, monitor upper-level control screens, and dispatch maintenance or jam services as appropriate.
  • perform data entry as necessary to oversee the organization’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Call Management System, and/or Gating Systems, and other work logs.
  • generate work orders, update work order information in the assigned software systems, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • perform data entry, maintain accurate physical and electronic records, and generate reports.
  • maintain operational information logs (e.g., airline activity, gate use, etc.) as directed by the Duty Manager.
  • coordinate the safe and efficient parking of aircraft on ramp areas, terminal gates, and designated remote parking locations.
  • adjust aircraft parking schedules to accommodate equipment outages, irregular operations, and other scenarios.
  • coordinate the utilization of other common resources, including ticket counters, sort piers, and carousels.
  • draft and send reports and correspondence as directed.
  • escalate matters to the on-shift Duty Manager or emergency services as appropriate.
  • follow all applicable LAWA rules and regulations, terminal SOPs, and ARCC bulletins.
  • maintain a constant awareness of airfield activities.
  • other duties as assigned.

The ASOC will be continuously staffed by one or more Dispatcher and Gating Coordinator 7 days each week, 365 days annually.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to professionally interface with stakeholders, including airlines, vendors, airport personnel, DHS, TSA, FAA, etc.

  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information exists.
  • Ability to review/write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively respond to questions from key stakeholders, staff, clients, and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS office tools.
  • Local experience at LAX will be considered a plus.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Two-year degree or course work in Business Administration, Public or related field. Degree is a plus.
  • Aviation experience is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to obtain all Airport staff access and security clearances from the Authorities.

Periodic US Domestic travel may be required.
