About the Clinic for Special Children: Since 1989, the Clinic for Special Children has served as a comprehensive medical clinic for children and adults with rare, genetic disorders. The majority of patients are uninsured, live in agrarian settings, and are of Old Order Amish or Mennonite (Plain) ancestry. The Clinic for Special Children cultivates special interest and expertise in genetic disorders of the Plain people and the provision of care to underserved populations. 

Position Summary: As a member of the clinical team, the Genetic Counselor participates in the evaluation of new patients, assists physicians with genetic testing decisions, provides pretest and posttest genetic counseling services to families, orders genetic testing, and manages the diagnostic pipeline. Additionally, they participate in clinical research projects. This is not a remote position; the role requires a regular on-site presence.

Minimum Requirements to apply:

• MS degree in Genetic Counseling.


• Board certification (active or pending) in Genetic Counseling.
  


• PA licensure as a Genetic Counselor.
