Part-Time Housekeeper

MAY Management Services is seeking a Housekeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the community’s common areas, amenities, and shared facilities. The Housekeeper helps create a welcoming environment for residents and guests while delivering consistent, high-quality customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness in all common areas, including hallways, lobbies, elevators, and amenity spaces.
  
• Removes litter, trash, and debris from community grounds and interior spaces.
  
• Empties trash receptacles and disposes of waste according to established procedures.
  
• Vacuums, sweeps, mops, and polishes floors as needed.
  
• Straightens and arranges furniture in shared areas.
  
• Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures, and surfaces to maintain a neat appearance.
  
• Cleans and polishes windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other reflective surfaces.
  
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen areas including counters, sinks, and appliances.
  
• Restocks supplies such as paper products, soap dispensers, and restroom items.
  
• Sanitizes restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, and partitions.
  
• Cleans, organizes, and maintains clubhouses, fitness areas, storage rooms, and similar facilities.
  
• Assists with setup, breakdown, and cleanup for meetings or events.
  
• Monitors supply and PPE inventory and assists with replenishment as needed.
  
• Supports hurricane or storm preparation before, during, and after weather events.
  
• Completes required checklists, logs, and work orders.
  
• Reports equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and maintenance needs to management promptly (e.g., burnt-out lights, trip hazards, malfunctioning doors).
  
• Follows all safety procedures and uses appropriate PPE while performing duties.
  
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  
• 1+ year of experience as a Housekeeper, Custodian, or in a similar role.
  
• Basic understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and chemical safety.
  

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate standard cleaning and maintenance equipment (e.g., vacuum, mops, leaf blower, pressure washer).
  
• Basic reading and math skills to follow cleaning and safety instructions.
  
• Strong customer service and communication skills; able to work effectively with residents, guests, and team members.
  
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
  
• Basic computer literacy for completing checklists, logs, and training modules.
  
• Strong attention to detail.
  
• Good problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
  
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
