Part-time Housekeeper- SHC Rectory

FLSA Status: non-exempt/hourly, 4 hours per week

Reports to: Pastor

Summary:

The Housekeeper will clean, sanitize, and maintain areas by providing cleaning services for SHC Rectory-Del Rio

Position Responsibilities: 

• Cleaning to include but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing and vacuuming offices, resident suites, guest rooms, bathrooms and meeting spaces.
• Develops and adheres to cleaning schedule (i.e. Resident priest suites) to assure cleanliness is maintained.
• Communicates effectively with management to address issues or problem areas.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with staff/faculty to address cleaning needs/requests.
• Stocking/Replacing of cleaning supplies where refilling is needed (i.e. bathrooms, meeting spaces).
• Sanitizing/disinfecting frequently used areas around campus buildings (i.e. doors, tables).
• Disposing of waste to designated area for pick up.
• Organizing cleaning closets/carts for use.
• Notifies maintenance/facilities department of needed maintenance or repairs.
• Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
• Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

• Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with staff about job-related needs.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in cleaning including dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

• Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals/supplies and equipment use.
• Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests.
• Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff and visitors to the property.
• Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Applications.
• A solid grasp of cleaning and organizing.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
• Must have good written and verbal skills.
• Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
