Our mission is to provide Seattle homeowners with a remodeling experience that eliminates spiraling budgets and out-of-control schedules, ensuring clients feel empowered, educated, and in control of their projects at all times.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transforming spaces and a commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences. As an Interior Designer at IHR, you will collaborate closely with clients and our team to design functional, beautiful, and personalized interiors that reflect our clients' visions and needs. This role is an hourly Part-Time position, with the possibility of moving into Full-Time.

Key Responsibilities

• Artistic Vision: A strong sense of style and an ability to develop aesthetically pleasing designs that align with client preferences and project goals. A passion for fashion and its influence on design is a plus.
• Creativity and Imagination: Innovative in selecting furnishings, fabrics, and other design elements to craft spaces that meet clients’ needs and complement their lifestyles.
• Detail-Oriented Precision: Meticulous in measuring interior spaces, drafting accurate plans, and ensuring furniture and furnishings fit seamlessly into the environment.
• Visual Awareness: A keen sense of proportion and an ability to visualize how individual design elements come together to create a cohesive and harmonious interior space.
• Client Collaboration: Engage with clients to understand their goals, preferences, and requirements for interior spaces.
• Design Development: Create detailed design plans, including renderings using Chief Architect, to effectively communicate design concepts.
• Material Selection: Recommend and select materials, furnishings, and finishes that align with the client's vision and budget.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with drafters, teammates, and other professionals to ensure design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Show Room and Site Visits: Conduct show room and site visits alongside clients to guide them through the process from designing to planning to building.

• Professional Appearance and Demeanor: Consistently maintain a clean and neat appearance, alongside a professional attitude when interacting with clients, drafters, designers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project neighbors.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Illustrator, Chief Architect, PowerPoint, or similar design tools to create and communicate design concepts effectively.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or a related field is required.

• Hourly, $38-$48 per hour, based on experience
