Job Description - Part-time Leasing Consultant (Legacy on Main)
Overview
As a Leasing Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in the leasing process, providing exceptional service to both prospective and current tenants. You will be responsible for showcasing available properties, assisting with the leasing process, and maintaining positive relationships with residents. Your duties will include conducting property tours, responding to inquiries, processing rental applications, and preparing lease agreements. Additionally, you will collaborate with the property management team on marketing initiatives, ensure the property is well-maintained, and organize events to attract new tenants. Your attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records, and adherence to Fair Housing laws will be essential in ensuring a smooth leasing experience for all parties involved.
Conduct property tours for prospective tenants, showcasing available units, amenities, and property features
Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate information about rental rates, lease terms, and property policies
Assist prospective tenants with completing rental applications, screening applicants through background and credit checks, and communicating approval or denial decisions promptly and professionally
Prepare and explain lease agreements to new tenants ensuring proper documentation, signatures, and funds are collected before move-in
Conduct move-in inspections and provide orientation on property rules
Maintain positive relationships with current tenants addressing maintenance requests, concerns, and lease renewals in a timely and professional manner
Ensure model units and common areas are clean, well-maintained, and presentable, while preparing leasing materials such as brochures and welcome packets
Collaborate with property management to implement marketing plans, conduct outreach, post advertisements, and track the effectiveness of marketing efforts. Recommend adjustments as needed
Organize and promote open houses, community events, and leasing promotions to attract new tenants
Maintain accurate records of leasing activity, including applications, showings, and signed leases, while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing laws and regulations
Manage the waitlist, ensuring all actions comply with Fair Housing standards
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
Familiarity with property management systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to multitask
Consistency in meeting deadlines, keeping appointments, and delivering on promises
Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
