Job Description - Part-time Library Assistant


POSITION TITLE: Library Assistant (Part-time)                            



START DATE: Open until filled



The College reserves the right to close the recruitment process once a sufficient applicant pool has been identified.



CAMPUS/DEPARTMENT: Ranger Campus



GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: 
The Library Assistant provides assistance in library functions with a focus on social media and marketing.



QUALIFICATIONS: 



  • Associates preferred.

  • Superb oral and written communication skills with a self-starter spirit.

  • Preferred experience in Higher Education.

  • Strong social media management skills. Applicants are encouraged to provide links to any professional social media accounts or portfolios they wish to have considered as part of the evaluation of their media expertise.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY:



  • Assisting faculty, students, and patrons in the use of the Learning Resource Center.

  • Providing clerical support for the Director of Learning Resources.

  • Carrying out and enforcing day to day policies of the Resource Learning Center.

  • Maintaining circulation and other usage records and statistics.

  • Processing library materials.

  • Maintaining check-in records for serials and submitting claims when necessary.

  • Maintaining order and appearance of the reference, circulating, reserve, periodical (current and back files), and special collections.

  • Maintaining public catalog.

  • Assisting with the inventory process.

  • Scheduling use of audio visual equipment.

  • Maintaining working hours as scheduled by the Director of the Learning Resource Center.

  • Providing support and maintenance for the Xerox copiers including helping students and patrons use the copier, resolving copier problems, replacing toner and paper, servicing copiers, and maintain complete monthly and quarterly usage reports to Xerox.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
