GEO Academies is a non-profit organization that has been making access to quality schools a reality for children since 1998. GEO currently supports over 3600 students in independent public schools in Indiana and Louisiana with a unique K-14 model that accelerates at-risk students into college and careers while still in high school.
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide hands-on, on-site maintenance of GEO’s Indianapolis properties located at 4010 and 4020 N. Sherman Drive, Indianapolis (GEO Next Generation High School). Repair and maintain fixtures and other furnishings. Ensure that school buildings and grounds are properly maintained in a manner that emphasizes student and staff safety and the positive, professional image of the school. Help to ensure that the school’s physical facilities comply with local, state, and federal codes and regulations. This is a part-time position, not to exceed 25 hours per week.

Provide hands-on repair, maintenance, and upkeep for school facilities (interior and exterior), ensuring that all schools are properly repaired and maintained. For major mechanical systems issues, work with the COO to diagnose, identify probable repairs, identify and reach out to qualified vendors to assist, and work with administrative staff to ensure that equipment and vendor services are properly procured through purchase orders.
Assist the school leadership with supervision and management of contracted vendors, including but not limited to HVAC, landscaping, custodial services, and security services. Under the direction of the COO and school principals, coordinate vendor work and the work of school staff assigned to day-to-day custodial and maintenance duties to ensure that the school’s day-to-day facilities needs are attended to. Coordinate day-to-day activities and one-time projects with school leadership to ensure site access and coordination of activities with the school’s instructional schedule. Resolve issues and conflicts and maintain excellent communications with and customer service to staff at all school facilities.
Perform other duties as assigned. Respond to emergencies as required.
EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of experience in construction-related trade or maintenance of commercial facilities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Valid Indiana driver’s license required. Must clear all applicable background checks
