Part Time: Middle School Spanish Teacher

THE ROLE

As the Spanish Lead Teacher, you will design and deliver high-quality Spanish language instruction for scholars in grades 5–7. You will build scholars’ foundational proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while fostering cultural awareness and a love for language learning. You will maintain a structured, joyful classroom culture and contribute to Ethos Classical’s enrichment and world language program.

This is a part-time, hourly position serving scholars two days per week.

THE PERSON

As the Spanish Lead Teacher, you will:

• Plan and teach engaging Spanish lessons aligned to grade-level standards and school expectations.


• Build scholar proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.


• Integrate cultural studies that highlight Spanish-speaking countries and communities.


• Establish clear routines, procedures, and expectations for a structured learning environment.


• Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs.


• Assess scholar progress and provide clear, actionable feedback.


• Collaborate with school leaders and staff to align Spanish instruction with the broader academic program.


• Maintain organized instructional materials and responsible use of classroom resources.


• Communicate professionally with staff and families as needed regarding scholar progress.

THE MUST HAVES

Prior Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field preferred.


• Prior experience teaching Spanish or supporting world language instruction with upper elementary or middle school scholars (grades 5–7 preferred).


• Strong Spanish language proficiency.


• Knowledge of language acquisition strategies and best practices.


• Strong classroom management, communication, and organization skills.


• Commitment to high expectations and positive scholar culture.

Work Demands & Schedule

• Schedule: Mondays and Fridays


• Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm


• Position Type: Hourly, part-time


• Pay Range: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience


• This role is paid only for hours worked.


• Hourly employees are not paid for school holidays, closures, or breaks when school is not in session.


• Additional hours beyond the regular schedule must be pre-approved.
