PART TIME CONTRACTOR

SMART Music provides music and movement classes to all children (infant through 5 years) at private, licensed Montessori preschools. Children learn best in a multi-sensory environment and music provides this in a fun way. Each class in the school will come to our music classes for 20-30 minutes with their classroom teacher once per week in the morning between 8:30 or 9 am to around noon depending on the school.

Our classes are filled with music and movement and thematic singing based on the season and holidays of the month using a wide array of music including Charlotte Diamond, Peter & Ellen Allard, Miss Carole Stephens, and seasonal LDS Children's Music. Music teachers need not have formal music degrees or training, just a love for young children and joy of singing and moving to music. Paid training, monthly thematic curriculum, and CD music will be provided. Teachers only need to provide their own CD player or speaker/phone setup. Morning Music Classes will be paid at a rate of $25/hr.

OPTIONAL HOURS AVAILABLE AT SOME SCHOOLS: In some schools, parents also have the option to pay for after lunch/ naptime group piano (max 3 in a group) and/or music camp classes. No previous formal piano skill is required. Piano lessons are VERY basic, go very slowly, and follow the Little Mozart Curriculum. All training will be given IF a teacher wants to also teach these additional classes. These additional hours will have a pay of $40/hr.

On-job training paid at $15/hr will be given as soon as hired at the school(s).

Little Elm/Celina/McKinney Area: need a music teacher for 3 mornings/wk. Optional additional hours available as piano/music camp.

***You will be required to pay for your own background check/fingerprinting fees and Pediatric CPR/1st Aide certifications before training is completed.

Compensation: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
